About two weeks ago, ukgirl left a comment in my article about losing dark circles without surgery. She mentioned her dermatologist said that “enerpeel” would be a better option to get rid of dark circles instead of injections.

Frankly, I’ve no idea what “enerpeel” is until I did some research on it recently. Here are some of my findings.

By definition, Enerpeel (ENERPEEL® EL system) is a single-use Medical Device consisting of a controlled viscosity mono-phase gel incorporating a mixture of acids within an appropriate applicator recommended for chemical peeling and remodelling of the Peri-ocular (eyelids included) and labial regions (vermillion not included).

In layman terms, Enerpeel consists of Trichloroacetic Acid Peels (TCA) which is one type of chemical peels that is used to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin using a chemical solution that causes the skin to blister and eventually peel off. It’s no doubt that by peeling off your old skin cells and let new cells grow will make you look younger and TCA probably is an effective way to treat skin discoloration, fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, and acne scarring.

But TCA for dark circle under eyes?Unless the dark circles are caused by pigmentation which I believe TCA might help a little bit here but I’m not sure it’s for other causes of dark circles which probably involve fat issue lay under the eyes , nutrition or allergies.
