I found an interesting Ayurveda method to cure dark circles under eyes from rootsherbal. It claims that it can on work on all kinds of dark circles or puffy bags under or around eyes including those caused by hereditary or other causes like insomnia, excessive work, improper dietary habits etc.

Here how it works, you will need to make a paste using five specialized herbs and two essential oils to cure dark circles. The ingredients are Ginseng Plus, Papaya, Neem, Mint, Aswagandha(Withania Somniferra), Sandalwood Oil and Almond Oil. You can add cucumber gel or Aloe Vera gel to prepare the paste.

They also say that

each ingredient has one or more specific property but it is the combination of all these herbs and oils that contributes towards the end result. The properties of these herbs include but not limited to lightening of the skin color, deep cleansing, ability to retain skin’s natural pigmentation, stimulating skin cells and blood vessels, having calming effect on the nerves and veins around the eyes, ability to open skin pores for deeper penetration of herbal oils, relaxation of eyes, provide soothing feeling, tightening the loose skin etc. All the above things happen as the skin begins to absorb the herbal oils and juices. It is very important to be regular because skin becomes progressively receptive to herbs. Once the skin gets used to it, results happen much faster.

Although it sounds convincing as I’ve seen Almond Oil and Neem being used in home remedies to cure dark circles, but when I look at the “before” and “after” photos available in their web sites, I hardly believe it works. Why? If you look closely at the photos, they just seem liked has been “modified” or so called “photoshoped” to illustrate the “after” effect.

However for the desperate people like me , it’s no harm to give it a try when everything else fail.
