I would like to share with you all another homemade remedy called Circle Buster. It’s a tip to reduce dark circles from essentialdayspa forum. And here it goes.
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.
Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.
I hope you enjoy the home remedy and if you have any home remedies that you would like to share with others, please contact me via contact me form.

I am on day 5 of my Knox homemade Spa Dark Circle Buster recipe posted above. I have been applying the unflavored gelatin for 45 minutes twice a day now. The intensity of my dark circles has definitely gone down. So I am going to continue with this for the next two weeks once a day and see how it goes. Thank you for sharing this homemade remedy.

The knox recipe is good. Also I am trying out the fenugreek powder with milk treatment. I must say that I am giving more points to the fenugreek with milk treatment, The lactic acid in the milk seems to be very effective in my skin under the eyes. I am doing this on an everyday basis. I apply the fenugreek paste for fifteen minutes (not more than that) and then I wipe off with a moist cotton wool.

Anyone, please answer my Q.. I went to the store today and found two different kinds of Knox gelatine.. The original unflavoured and the NutraJoint Knox unflavoured gelatine.. which one is the one that is suppose to be used? The NutraJoint has vitamin K in it, whereas the original didnt have vitamin K listed in the Nutrition facts.. Please help! Thank you..

Hi Tammy, you can use the NutraJoint Knox unflavoured gelatine..

Thank you, I did not know that either. Actually I have also found another use for the Knox regular unflavoured gelatine. I use to to make a peel off facepack for my entire face. I prepare the gelatine paste (with 1 packet from the box and 2 table spoons of hot water). To this I add honey and almond powder (that I have made by grinding fresh almonds after peeling the skin off). I apply this mix on my face. Have it on for about 20 minutes and peel off. It gives my face a very fresh look that lasts for about a week or so.

I am a huge pessimist when it comes to dark circles. I’ve had mine (hereditary) for a while, and while some ppl tell me that I am over exaggerating, some ppl have told me that it is pretty bad and apparent. I hate when ppl ask me if I’m tired (after 8 hours of sleep) and when I don’t feel confident about my appearance or working late nights because of my circles. I once had a boss ask me if I had gotten punched in the face. Needless to say, I have tried COUNTLESS remedies: chanel beaute initiale, clinique all about eyes (both kinds), Hylexin, vita K, Roc, kinerase, estee lauder, and a whole bunch of random ones from Sephora, all “guaranteed” to work. I have used some with different types of caffeine (red tea, grean tea, coffee) and nothing.
I am going to try out the knox remedy and see if it works. I have also just ordered TruFace Ideal Eyes from NuSkin (not sold in dept. stores) and those products are supposed to be excellent and reasonably priced. I will let you know how the Knox works. Any other suggestions?
p.s. Mine are not just a “bad day” look…it is permanent and present everyday. They are not hollow circles, but rather slightly puffy and a dark shadow–concealer makes it look darker sometimes, although I use it regardless.

Hey Hopeless has any of them worked? Please update us
January 29th, 2009 at 2:24 am
‘Hopeless’ you are not alone. I have the very same problem. I’ve had dark circles for the past 11 years..Like you i’ve tried pretty much everything in this world (except this knox & fenugreek ofcourse). I’ve gotten very depressed over this sometimes..I’m on day 2 of my knox treatment and just praying it should work..Am also give fenugreek a try. Either way, i’ll follow up here with my comment. If it works for me..then it’ll for anyone & everyone.

Hi everyone,
Does it matter what brand of unflavored gelatin we use? I live out in Australia and don’t think they sell it out here. I have tried a few stores without luck.
Thoughts? Thanks

results anyone?
April 16th, 2009 at 11:22 pm
Tried both. Didn’t work for me. But that doesn’t mean it won’t work for you. Just give it a try. No harm in it. I hope it works for you.

I’m of Indian descent and the under eye thing is pretty common. I’ve tried the Laura Mercier concealer and Touche Eclat from Estee Lauder. They did not work for me. I also bought smart cover which is kinda like Dermablend. I’ve now been on youtube and have seen Dermablend demos so I’m going to try that. Finally, I’m doing the under eye laser thing which is about 1K for 3 sessions. It’s called luma laser. They told me 3 sessions would be enough. It is too soon to see results-although it seems that immediately after the session, my eyes are lighter. I still have to do my 3rd session and then wait 6 months. I will report back so no one has to waste their money.

Sorry the under eye laser is called Aluma not Luma.

Deva,
Thanks for sharing your experience here. I would like to know how the Aluma treatment worked for you. What is the gap b/w these sessions, I mean is it done monthly for first 3 months and then you wait for 6 months for the results to show up fully?
Thanks.
