super..!! anyone know more about the injection?
February 13th, 2007 at 9:05 am
I would definitely pay for this if it is as good as the video…But I’m always a bit scared of new things like this as there tends to be some side effect they don’t know of yet. I wonder if its availabke in Europe?

hi, my dermatologist has advised that these injections are not a great idea for dark circles and is instead advising ‘enerpeel’. does anyone know anything about enerpeel? does it work??
March 21st, 2007 at 7:12 pm
hi ukgirl,
I’ve quite new to this ‘enerpeel’ term, have any clients of you dermatologist try this before? how’s the results?

Chemical peels might not be the best option for everyone. I, for example have hollowness under my eyes (skin is very thin) its not the skin itself that is dark. Adding fat or fillers will help fill in the hollow space that is causing the dark circles. First dertermine what is causing the dark circles and take the proper procedure from there.
July 27th, 2007 at 9:29 am
Hi Stephany, I know what you mean… when I “pick” my skin around the eyes up, you can see that the skin actually turn to normal skin color but it turn back to dark when it “lay” down again…
July 27th, 2007 at 9:57 pm
LOL I’ve done the same thing!! Thats when i began researching even more about my dark circles.
I was on you tube looking for cosmetic tips on concealing dark circles (actually thought about buying Eve Pearl’s salmon concealer) when i came across the clip of the ladies in the pictures posted above.
The doctor does several injections of Restylane under the eye to fill in the space causing dark circles. I made an appointment (just for a consultation) with a plastic/cosmetic surgeon around the vicinity of my job (NYC, Park Avenue). Hopefully i gather enough courage to do it!
July 28th, 2007 at 9:25 am
Stephany, I hope we can hear from you again about your trip to the cosmetic surgeon.. Let’s us know how’s is it..
If the procedures are safe, I believe you will able to gather all the courage to do it..
August 1st, 2007 at 4:20 am
My appointment is tomorrow 1:30pm eastern time. Im concerned about bruising. I dont want to have to come to work with two black eyes…i work in an office! I will definitely post as soon as i come back.
August 1st, 2007 at 9:28 am
Ya..I think there will be mild bruising.. Stephany, if you want, you can visit this site http://drseckel.com/surgical-procedures/result-oriented-removal-of-dark-circles-under-the-eyes/
to find out what happen during the pre, during and after the operation.. I hope it will help you to understand more about it..
August 2nd, 2007 at 2:25 am
So I just came back from my consultation with the doctor. He basically told me it wasnt worth it. He told me with any filler under the eyes there is alot of brusing and swelling for up to several weeks and the results only last 3-4 months. He told me i should just invest in good makeup. What a complete bummer. I am definitely going to get a second opinion from another doctor. There has to be someone willing to correct my under eye circles!!! Sorry I didnt find a cure! =o(
August 2nd, 2007 at 10:11 am
Hi Stephany, great to hear from you again! Hm.. the doctor seems didn’t perform any these kind of dark circles surgery before… From my understanding ( if i’m not wrong) the filler should last for probably 1 - 2 years but it’s not permanent.. Means it’s not like “one surgery” “dark circles free forever”.. But at least within this time frame, we can just enjoy ourself without those ugly dark circles…If you do visit another doctor, please drop by to update us!
August 2nd, 2007 at 10:03 pm
1-2 years? really? That would be WONDERFUL. I think perhaps the fillers used may have to do with the longevity of the results. I went with my mom who was interested in using fillers for her nasolabial folds (AKA laugh line) when we asked about restylane he said the results would last 3-4 months and with Radiesse up to a year. Perhaps thats why? In any case i am going to try to consult another cosmetic surgeon regarding fat grafting instead. Read about it somewhere. I’ll post the link when i find it.
August 2nd, 2007 at 10:19 pm
Stephany, thanks again for dropping by! Hopefully getting updates from you about your next visit!
August 24th, 2007 at 10:31 am
hey im 15 and was wondering if this would be a good procedure to get rid of my dark circles, ive had them since i was a small kid, me and my mom want them gone
August 24th, 2007 at 4:18 pm
Hi person995, I think the procedure might not suitable for such a young age. However if you might consult with your doctor and discussing with your mom about this procedure if you insists. Probably you can try some eye creams first or adjusting your diet and see how everything goes! I hope it helps!
( I’m like you too, getting the dark circles since I was a kid
)
August 24th, 2007 at 9:25 pm
Hey Person995, unfortunately welcome to the club. I think the most important piece of information you and your mom should figure out first is, What is causing my dark circles? To avoid going into downward spiral (not to mention an expensive one) of buying and trying every product, home remedy and cosmetic procedure out there and trust me there are tons!!
Some people have dark circles due to their pigmentation and/or discoloration of the skin, some have allergies, for some their diet is lacking certain nurtients and vitamins, others are not getting enough sleep! I am one of the many that have whats called hollow eyes. Which means i dont have much tissue in my eye socket which causes the thin skin around my eyes to sink giving off a shadow, and voila, my panda eyes =o(
I think figuring this out first can help you narrow down the remedies for your specific cause of dark circles. Hope this helps!
August 24th, 2007 at 11:44 pm
ya that is it, like the skin under my eyes is so thin, so could you help me out by giving me more information or something, thank you for your help
August 26th, 2007 at 11:51 am
anyone?
August 26th, 2007 at 4:28 pm
hi person995,
Try Stephany’s advice. Starting from finding the cause of you dark circles.
http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com/2006/11/27/causes-of-dark-circles/
And learn how to cover your dark circles when treating it..
http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com/2007/01/18/how-to-apply-concealer-to-cover-dark-circles-under-eyes-video-%e2%80%93-series-1/
August 27th, 2007 at 4:35 am
i dont want to cover them up because im a guy, so either i need to find sumthing that does or get this injection because im desperate for help, thank you
August 27th, 2007 at 4:06 pm
hi person995,
Sorry, I don’t know that you are a guy!
If you would like to get more information about this kind of injection, you can
contact Dr. Seckel at http://drseckel.com/contact/
And here’s a simple introduction about Dr. Seckel.
http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com/2007/08/21/hello-from-dr-seckel/
August 28th, 2007 at 7:09 am
thank you so much, do you think it would work and be performed on a 15 year old,i really weant them gone there horrible lol
August 28th, 2007 at 5:10 pm
Hi person995,
Thanks for dropping by again. I think it’s not about whether it will work because this stuff actually would not cure the dark circles forever.. It might just 1 - 2 years before you getting back the dark circles.. ( Of coz you will enjoy dark circles free for that 1 -2 years ) Another issue that I can think of is … you are quite young to undergo this kind of procedures and you might need your parents permissions and support ( financially and emotionally) . It is best to consult the related doctors as they can give you the best advice and suggestions.
I wish you the best!
August 29th, 2007 at 7:12 am
haha yay, if they can be gone for a year or to that would be so great, and yes i have my moms support, now all i need to do is find all the other information and we can crack down on getting rid of these things, thank you soo much
August 29th, 2007 at 5:25 pm
Hi person995,
Wow! Great that you’ve support from your mom. Then I shall suggest that you sent an email to Dr. Seckel and ask about your dark circles. I believe he will reply your email soon. ( I tried before )
August 30th, 2007 at 7:10 am

o haha ok, sorry for being annoying but…, what exactly is the surgery to get rid of my dark circles
September 4th, 2007 at 9:13 pm
Hi person995,
It depends on the type of dark circles you having. To be exact, you need to consult your doctor. For brief introduction on types of dark circles surgery, you can visit here.. saveyourface.com/whatsnew/2006/12/18/medical-causes-of-dark-circles-under-the-eyes/

September 11th, 2007 at 7:02 am

September 11th, 2007 at 9:15 am
Hi person995,
Glad to hear from you again.:D
Can you share what you got and would you decide do go ahead?
September 12th, 2007 at 7:30 am
Thank you for your email.
Please check this link for a picture of one of my patients who had her
dark circles removed and a discussion of the procedure:
http://drseckel.com/surgical-procedures/result-oriented-removal-of-dark-circles-under-the-eyes/
I have many patients who come to my Boston area practice in Concord from
the US, UK and Central Asia for correction of dark circles under the eyes.
Surgery is done at Emerson Hospital in Concord, Massachusetts an
excellent Boston area hospital. There are several excellent hotels in the
area which are convenient to the hospital and provide fine accommodations.
It is best if someone could come with you and stay with you the night
after surgery. However we do have a service which will provide
transportation to and from your appointments and surgery and have someone
stay with you the first night. If you decide to come and have the surgery
we can arrange this for you.
The surgery takes about 30-45 minutes, you are asleep for the procedure
and then you will be in the recovery room for about 2 hours just so we can
watch you and make sure you are comfortable enough to go to the hotel.
I like for you to arrive in Boston 2 days before surgery for a pre
operative exam and testing which will take place in my Concord Office at
the hospital. Concord is a short commuter train ride from Boston. After
surgery it is best if you stay in this area for a week after surgery.
Actually, after 4-5 days with sunglasses you may be able to be “out and
around” but I do not want you to do heavy lifting or vigorous physical
activity for 2-3 weeks after surgery.
I am attaching a photograph of a patient who had the dark circle procedure
and her upper eyelids done. The cost of the lower eyelids alone is $7500,
uppers and lowers are $9000.00, and if I have to harvest fat from around
the belly button to place into deeper hollows below the eyes it costs an
additional $1000.00. When I receive your photos I can give you an
accurate cost. Please contact Kathleen Burke for further information at
978-844-3116. Also please check my clinical website:
http://drseckel.com/ and you may want to sign up for my free newsletter:
http://saveyourface.com/NewsLetter.html. I look forward to hearing from
you and reviewing your eyelid photos. I look forward to hearing from you
and hope to get to meet you. Sincerely, Dr Seckel
September 12th, 2007 at 7:30 am
i dont have that money, so i guess its kinda over..
September 13th, 2007 at 8:14 pm
hi person995, what’s your budget initially.. Probably you can wait until few years later where you can earn that amount of money and treat yourself
September 14th, 2007 at 7:55 am
can you tell me exactly how much is the needed money bec. iwant to know since i’m planning already to save money for at least in the future i will get rid of this and be free
September 14th, 2007 at 7:59 am
ohhh… after reading the earlier posts i want to ask person995 about what he does to at least to cover it because same as he is i am a male and i’m 16. And i think i need a lot of courage to have my parents support bec. they are kind of against it
September 14th, 2007 at 9:10 am
well no, i need it now, how much do the injections in the video cost, i heard they work? thank you
September 14th, 2007 at 9:21 pm
i really see that you are really eager with it. Same expression when i really learned the true impact on me having this one but unluckily there is no doctor around my place but i’m contacting one local doctor to find his opinion. If you live in the west then you have higher chance of treatment unlike me…
September 14th, 2007 at 9:23 pm
i will ask you again person995 and can you answer me what did the doctor said about the price of the operation please bear with me that i do also want to know to prepare the exact amount
September 14th, 2007 at 9:26 pm
Sorry I forgotten to approve previous person995 message.. you can view his message now..
September 14th, 2007 at 9:28 pm
From what I heard from the video, it’s about $500 to $1000. However it’s no where to know who is this doctor is and where you can find this doc..
September 15th, 2007 at 3:09 am
hhmm, i posted the costs and all in my one message, its up there, but do you think you would be able to try and find the doctor and where this is, i know i t wwould be hard because well it just is haha, but i would really appreciate it, and thanks for all the help youve gave me so far, thanks to you i still have a little chance, thank you
September 17th, 2007 at 7:29 am
??
September 17th, 2007 at 2:13 pm
Hi person995 ,
I’m still doing the research and can’t find where this doctor from? Anyone have any luck on this?
September 17th, 2007 at 8:47 pm
that money $10000 is half the price to buy a person here a brand new car. And i will have that if i am already working and by which a minimum salary more or less i will acquire it after 3-4 years and that will be far far far from now.
Is it okay if other doctors will fill you using the injection with restylane?
If there will only be local doctors here for sure it will be only at around $2000-2500. Do you know or are there any doctors doing surgery on dark circles in Asia? or even in Australia. I really hope there is at least even in Australia since it is closer to where my country is and maybe the price is very very much lower
September 17th, 2007 at 10:11 pm
hey idontknow,
I’m not too sure where you from, but I found this from a singapore forum yesterday.
http://www.flowerpod.com.sg/forums/index.php?showtopic=4295&pid=1441245&st=80entry1441245
Read the post by a user called Eri12 . She said she had fat transfer for her dark circles and it’s about $1500 .
You can try to contact her for more info if you want.
September 18th, 2007 at 6:29 am
i live in pennsylvania and thank you for that, but if you could do more research i would deeply appreciate it! thank you
September 18th, 2007 at 11:37 am
i’m from the Philippines and there are a lot of surgeons here but i dont know if they are really good but for sure the labor cost would be like yes at around $1000-$1500 (that’s the total cost i believe).labor here is much cheaper because no one here would spend $10000 for only the eye procedure, here you can already use that money for liposuction and even breast implants so i’m really shocked on the price of the operation made by Dr. Seckel
It just came to me that what is the need for the arcus marginalis release?. From what i understand from Dr. Seckel it is a muscle tissue that is attached to the bone and the procedure he does releases it from the attachment because when the eye moves it doesn’t freely move causing the dark circles.
In my case i could really see that i dont have much fats under my eyes and it is like hollow and thus causing the veins or capillaries to find a hard time flowing the blood only making dark circles. so what i think is that i dont really need a major operation but a simple fat grafting or transplant will do it to remove the dark circles because the muscle or the tissues will not be lay flat on the bones. The problem on me is that there’s not much fat under my eyes and so it lies over the bones.
Today my dark circles is really horrible because i have a flu that is stuck on my sinuses and that from what the dermatologist told me before that flu or the phlegm irritates the tissues when you blow hard or even by being there. Yesterday my whole eyes are really red and watery because of the flu so now it is very dark. I chose to be home today to rest and let the darkening lessen. Can you please recommend anything fast temporary relief because i need it. Also i’m quite desperate so i need to know if there are make-ups that hides dark circles and isn’t noticeable because i’m a man. i’m really using all the possible things for temporary relief pls help
September 18th, 2007 at 12:04 pm
i have also made an account there and i mailed her about the doctor and the effects i just need to wait for her reply and it’s good to know she is active member so she might log in later and read the message and reply
September 18th, 2007 at 2:17 pm
Hi idontknow,
If you do get reply from her, can you share it with us as well?
I live near Singapore as well!
September 19th, 2007 at 7:11 am
a reply from who, and i hope your searching ias goin well
September 21st, 2007 at 7:41 am
here is the reply from the one wo did the fat grafting:
“Hi,
I did my fats transfer at Amaris B, dark circles are still there….it works more for the lines but not so much for the dark circles…. ”
This means that fat grafting isn’t effective same with the injectibles on the dark circles. It means only that the procedure done by Dr. Seckel is the one which is effective and the only one in the world though. In addition the local cosmetic doctor i have contacted replied and told me that bleaching and laser treatments may be of help but i doubt it.
Shoooot, I really need to earn and save at most $10,000
September 21st, 2007 at 7:52 am
hmm maybe it just want effective for him, but i dont know they said the injections work so im going to try them when i find out where they are at
September 21st, 2007 at 7:59 am
i have heard once that Dr. Seckel does this procedure in India or Africa for “pro bono” right?
what if i go there instead for a free surgery bec. i really dont have the money LOL
September 21st, 2007 at 10:17 pm
I disagree that fat grafting doesnt work. I think everyone is different and bodies react differently to the same procedure. I believe that if you have hollow eyes the only procedure that will work is fat grafting or injectable fillers. Bleaching treatments and laser treatment are only effective if dark circles are caused by skin pigmentation.
http://www.darkcircles.net/correcting-sunken-eyes.html
Here is a litte more insight
September 22nd, 2007 at 11:41 am
hmm my eyes are kind of sunken, but would he perform this on a 16 year old?
September 22nd, 2007 at 5:03 pm
If you would really want to know, just ask him.. Don’t guess because no one can answer this question on behalf on him..
September 23rd, 2007 at 5:09 am
i emailed dr vartanian but he has not answered me back yet
September 24th, 2007 at 7:44 am
should i see a dermatologist?
September 24th, 2007 at 11:58 am
I’ve seen skin care specialist before and the only thing that he recommended was just an eye cream. My mom used it but I didn’t saw a big difference.
September 25th, 2007 at 9:00 am
gees, i really dont know what to do, he wont email me back, dr seckel is to expensive, and dr vatanian lives in ca and im in pa, i just dont know what to do
September 26th, 2007 at 6:32 am
when i ask a local cosmetic surgeon here about the fat grafting and also about these dark circles he straitforwardly answered me that he dont know whether the fat grafting would be effective in removing this dark circles
What i just ought to do is just to save money for in the future i might do the operation on Dr. Seckel’s procedure
September 26th, 2007 at 6:48 am
do any other doctors do the injections, or the fat grafting where near i live, in pennsylvania?or are there any good creams or something?thanks
September 26th, 2007 at 7:53 pm
hi person995, probably you can get do some research about your doctors in the area online and offline.
September 27th, 2007 at 7:11 am
can you give me a head start on how to research for them? and are there any good creams
September 27th, 2007 at 4:30 pm
[…] is some interesting discussion about cost of dark circles surgery going on in this post few days […]
September 27th, 2007 at 11:31 pm
Hi person995,
Hm.. basically just start with GOOGLE .. Haha.. try to use keywords like “plastic surgeon” or “plastic surgery” + “you local area name” .. It can be a good start.. Or you type in more specific surgery method you intend to do as well..
For eye creams, they can range from cheap to expensive.. Depending on your budget.. The expensive one could be from $100 to $ 500..
To start with, try HydroPeptide Extreme, vita-K or
Under EyeBryten..
I hope it helps and I wish you the best of your journey to get rid of dark circles under eyes. ( A wish to myself as well).
September 27th, 2007 at 11:32 pm
And idontknow, if you do visit dr. seckel for the dark circles surgery.. can you drop me a line as well? Probably I can come along if I’m ready financially.. *sweat*
September 28th, 2007 at 6:28 am
dont worry bec. that will be years from now bec. i’m only a student right now and i dont earn my own money. also $10,000 is too big so it will be future future but hopefully there will be someone who will adapt this procedure and maybe it will spread near asia. i really do hope someone in Australia do this bec. it is very near asia even you (you live in singapore right\?)
September 29th, 2007 at 1:10 pm
Hi everyone, I visited Dr. Vartanian today. I have had my panda circles for years. first i thought it´s the fault of the amalgam in my teeth and took it all out. I have to say that since then they lightened up slightly but not totally. So today I went to Dr. Vartanian who put material for $ 550 under my eyes. Are my circles completely gone now? No. But again they lightened up a bit. I asked how long that would be the case and he told me, for about 9 month. A lot of people are doing it very successfully. Dr. Vartanian is a very friendly person just like all the other people working for him. I guess, if you are in L.A. it is worth a try. Maybe together with something like this…http://www.nodarkcircles.com/
I guess I´ll give it a try in addittion to Dr. Vartanian´s job.
September 30th, 2007 at 2:17 pm
Just in case somebody wants to know, I found something else today, when I looked for milexin at walgreens…it´s cheaper and the name is ProLighten for Severe Dark Circles. I got it for $ 24 something.
October 1st, 2007 at 12:57 pm
hi idontknow , I live near Singapore ( Malaysia )
.. I hope the same as you as well.. Good luck!
October 4th, 2007 at 8:24 am
i tried eyebryten and i can say that it is crap, it does not work or anything, btw im getting this nasal irrigation thing and its supposed to flush out ur sinuses, do u think that might help?
October 4th, 2007 at 11:07 am
Good question? So far I did not have any experience with it…sorry.
October 4th, 2007 at 7:50 pm
Hi person995, sorry to hear that eyebryten doesn’t work . Do you have nasal irrigation before this? If you do, you might want to try Jala Neti .. More info here.. http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com/…/how-you-can-cleanse-your-sinus-with-neti-pot-to-reduce-dark-circles-under-eye/
October 5th, 2007 at 7:27 am
ummm excuse me mydarkcirclesblog but i do have this question in my mind. Does weightlifting can cause or aggreviate dark circles. I have thought of this because in the future i might be going into a gym, you know to build up my firgure but i think it could aggreviate my dark circles since it could put pressure in my eyes during let’s say benchpress.
what do you think?
October 5th, 2007 at 8:32 am
me myself i lift weights and i can say use proper form and u will have no problems but muscle

i’m wondering if someone of you experiences like me that everytime i sleep i experience like a swelling on my eyes, like the secretion of fluid on your eyes is excessive. I have read in a website that this one also causes dark circles. Can someone help me to avoid it when i’m sleeping.

i have just watched the video about the bleraps. something (cant’ spell) and i just watched in awe. It is very hurting if without any anesthesia. it is like burning if using laser and i do really admire the technology bec. it is safer and accurate, less dangerous. I do really and would really pursue it still and i believe Dr. seckel do the same thing, using that laser.
It would hurt but i will think of the outcome more than the pain, my mind is set anyways. Also i kind of stumble to the thing you’ve said that it would be like temporary for 1- 2 years why? and i disagree bec. in the procedure done b dr. seckel the arcus marginalis that causes the dark circles will be corrected so how would it be back and also there would be fats that will be transplanted to plump it up

what vartanian does is he puts material under your eyes, a colorless fluid which looks and somewhat like lube. Before he starts the procedure he puts some numbing cream under your eyes. And after about twenty minutes he starts. For me, because I did not want to spend so much, he put $550 under the eyes.
The passes did not hurt, but I still felt them a little bit. A prette strange feeling. As said before, my circles are not gone. I guess the filling just smoothened my undereye area, so if light falls from a certain angle, they don´t look so dark anymore. And yes, Vartanian said to me they only last for about 9 month…which is stupid, huh…? To me for someone who has really dark circles like me,….and it sounds very plausible that that blood leaking…etc…is true…they will have to find a better cure than Vartanians. So at this point I will continue to try those creams, of which all of them are a lot cheaper than the syringes, and maybe even mor efficient.

Hm…I am trying out “prolighten”…you can get it at walgreens for about $24. They say on the package that it is liky Hylexin, which is the expensive one costing $ 95, or so…An other one, claiming to be better than Hylexin is called “milexin”. Google them, milexin has a pretty interesting page, it costs about $ 74…Does “prolighten” work? Hm…my girlfriend said…”you hardly have any circles” when I got back after a month from L.A. It may have been…Dr. Vartanian´s job and prolighten, I guess…however I will continue using “prolighten” for the next few weeks and post the results…Take care…

Hi!
Im 27 years old, and I had a nose job 3 years ago. after surgery I suffered terrible complications, the bleeding suposed to last 2 or 3 days but, I was still bleeding 12 days after the procedure, my face swelled a lot, and the blood vases in my eyelids exploded. Before the nosejob I used to have a normal light dark circles, nothing that some chamomile or some sleep couldn´t control, but after the nose job, y have a claw like stain, very diferent from what i had before. The color is more like black or gray (before was more like brown), and I think that maybe some inner skin its damaged or maybe my skin its stained because of the bruises. I used to do the same things that you do, I used to stretch my skin and it turned to normal skin color, but now, when I do it, the stretched skin its like purple, and have a lot of veins that weren´t there before. I´ve tried almost anything, home made remedys, sleep, work out, hylexyn and other creams, went to dermatologist, but nothing reallly improves my condition. So I´m tempted to try laser or more agresive procedures, even I dont trust completely plastic surgery or invasive procedures, because what I´ven trough. If anyone have any advise please answer me to my e-mail, thanx..

Hi Heff,
Have you consult your doctor ( who did the nose job ) what are the reason your dark circles look “darker” after the surgery?
I’m not sure if anyone of us here can help because we know nothing about surgery but just in case if you want to contact a plastic surgeon for advice, you can visit dr. seckel web site and contact him through the contact form. Normally he reply within 48 hours. Hope that helps!
